Silver Explorer 2018/2019 Luxury Cruises

Combine adventure and comfort on this luxury expedition yacht!

Cruises on board the Silver Explorer

Enjoy a luxury cruising experience onboard the Silver Explorer by SilverSea. Newly refurbished in 2017, guests are ensured nothing but the best cruising with the latest onboard entertainment, dining and modern staterooms. With its smaller size the ship can visit otherwise hard to reach locations. This ship is also ice-class certified, meaning guests can travel to polar destinations like the Arctic and Antarctica. Popular cruises include itineraries featuring destinations such as Alaska, the Easter Islands and Tahiti. See the fjords and glaciers while sipping the best cocktails or enjoying a relaxing massage after a long day exploring remote islands aboard this luxury liner.

As a luxury cruise ship, passengers aboard the Silver Explorer tend to be affluent and seasoned cruisers. The majority are Americans between the age of 50-70 with a significant number of European guests as well. Although well-behaved children are welcome onboard, there are no special kids' facilities, and the passenger makeup tends to be more adult.

Ship information

Staterooms

As a luxury yacht, the Silver Explorer offers all-suite accommodation, each stateroom features timeless classic decor. With its stylish interiors and in-room amenities, passengers will feel like they are staying in a upscale hotel suite during the cruise.

Passengers can enjoy a marble tub, pillow menu, writing desk and a butler service. Its most premium suite, the Owner Suite, allows passengers to experience an 'apartment-at-sea' ambiance with its impeccable interior and opulent amenities like Bulgari bath accessories, afternoon canapés, fully-stocked fridge and bar as well as a spacious private balcony.

Dining & Gastronomy

The ship has two restaurants, the Grill and the Restaurant. The Grill has a casual atmosphere with guests enjoying ocean views. Here guests can witness how their food is cooked right in front of them on their table using volcanic rocks. During the day the Grill serves as a rotisserie, burger bar and gourmet salad bar.

Savor regional dishes during your cruise at the Restaurant. Glass windows let guests enjoy the view while enjoying freshly caught seafood. With its open-seating, the Restaurant offers La Collection du Monde prepared solely for Silver Explorer by chefs Relais and Chateaux.

Entertainment and Activities

Onboard the Silver Explorer guests can expect impeccable service but there is no need to be extravagant. Twice daily there are expeditions led by experts in history and biology. The ship has a gym, a boutique, a library, lounges, a salon and the Connoisseur's Corner, where guests can sample and purchase a selection of cognacs and cigars.

Dress Code

This ship provides detailed packing requirements prior to the cruise. Some cruises provide complimentary jackets and backpacks. Boots can also be borrowed onboard. Two formal events require evening dress for women and smart jacket (tie optional) for men. Shorts and jeans are prohibited inside restaurants. In other areas of the ship casual wear is encouraged.
