Silver Discoverer 2019 - 2020 Expedition Cruises

Embark on the ultimate adventure on an expedition cruise with the Silver Discoverer!

Cruises on board the Silver Discoverer

The Silversea Discoverer is a luxury expedition vessel built for those looking for both adventure and pampering. With her shallow draft and dexterous navigation, she is able to navigate the shallow waters along chains of islands and rugged coasts, as well as get closer to nature and visit smaller ports than is possible for larger ships. With just 120 passengers, she provides intimate, personalized cruises to some of the most exotic destinations worldwide. She primarily sails in the Pacific, exploring Southeast and East Asia, Seychelles, the Maldives, and remote regions of the Australia and New Zealand coasts.

The Silversea Discoverer creates the perfect hybrid of luxury cruising and expedition voyages. A feature not found on many expedition vessels, the top-deck pool is the perfect place for a cool dip when cruising through tropical locations. A luxurious Beauty Salon is the perfect way to pamper yourself between ports, and Silversea veterans will not miss their favorite dining experiences at Hot Rocks and The Restaurant.

Ship information

Every cabin on the Silver Discoverer is a suite, featuring a window or private veranda, a queen-sized bed with luxury linens, a sitting area with an armchair and loveseat, a flat-screen TV, a minibar pre-stocked with your favorite beverages, and your own personal white-gloved butler. Explorer Suites start at 186 square feet and feature a porthole with an ocean view. Veranda Suites have an average size of 280 square feet, and the indulgent Medallion Suites are 408 square feet, featuring a separate living room and bedroom and various additional perks such as laundry service, unlimited free WiFi, and an exclusive dinner at the officers' table.

Dining & Gastronomy

The main dining room on the Silver Discoverer is The Restaurant, a sit-down, open seating restaurant specializing in regional specialties and classic European and American dishes. The Restaurant features a buffet-style breakfast and lunch and a semiformal dinner. The specialty restaurant, The Grill, is a regular grill and burger bar in the day, and turns into a one-of-a-kind dining experience at night: Guests can cook their own food right at their table on a hot lava stone, prepared in an oven to reach the perfect grilling temperature.

Entertainment and Activities

The Silver Discoverer is an expedition ship, and the cruise experience revolves around the destinations. The activities on board mostly revolve around preparing for upcoming ports of call, including daily briefings, educational lectures and voyage recaps. The onboard spa is the perfect place for a relaxing manicure between excursions, and a small fitness center allows passengers to get their daily exercise, even on sea days.

Dress Code

Passengers should dress appropriately for the regions they will be visiting. Most passengers dress resort casual or country club casual, and evenings dinners are typically smart casual. The only exception is the Captain's Welcome Aboard and Farwell Dinners, where men typically wear a dinner jacket and women wear slacks or a skirt.
