Scenic Eclipse II 2020 Cruises

Sail across the Arctic in this unprecedented luxury expedition ship!

Cruises on board the Scenic Eclipse II

After the unprecedented success of the “world’s first discovery yacht,” Scenic Cruises has announced the launch of a sister ship, launching in 2020: the Scenic Eclipse II.

Scenic Eclipse II will combine exciting Arctic expedition itineraries to Scenic’s signature “six star service” to reach new heights in luxury expedition cruising. With a limited passenger count of just 228 guests, her passengers will feel more like they’re on a private yacht or an expedition charter. She’ll sail the Arctic, cruising along unique itineraries in Canada, Greenland, northern Norway, and Russia.

The Scenic Eclipse II will feature top-of-the-line luxury cruise ship amenities, as well as never-before-seen safety features and innovations. Passengers can enjoy cruise ship standards such as a relaxing Spa Sanctuary, a gym and fitness area, and a variety of bars and lounges, as well as high-end features such as plunge pools, helicopters, and a submarine. The ship also has the highest Ice Class rating of any luxury vessel, making it the safest luxury cruise ship to traverse the Arctic.

Staterooms

For those who wish to see the ends of the Earth while traveling in uncompromised luxury, the Scenic Eclipse II will not disappoint. Like its sister ship, it features 114 all-verandah suites which start at a luxurious 345 square feet. Verandah suites come standard with a luxuriously-appointed king size bed, separate sleeping and lounging areas, a fully-stocked minibar, a high-end HDTV and Bose entertainment system, and personal butler service. Higher-level suites feature around 1,200 square feet of space and amenities such as outdoor terraces with sun loungers, an en-suite dining room including a table with four chairs, a steam shower and full bath, complimentary spa treatments and laundry services, and priority choice of specialty dining and shore excursions. Book the one-of-a-kind Owner’s Penthouse Suite and you’ll never want to leave: Your personal butler will deliver every meal straight to your stateroom if you please, and an en-suite spa day bed allows you to enjoy your favorite spa treatments from the oasis of your room.

Dining & Gastronomy

With ten different dining experiences, the Scenic Eclipse II features an unprecedented freedom of choice in dining for a ship of its size. Menus are designed by master chefs and inspired from cuisine all over the world. From fine French dining and free-flowing champagne at Lumiere, to fresh sushi and live Teppanyaki demonstrations at Koko’s, to surf-and-turf classics at the main restaurant, Elements, you’ll never have to eat at the same restaurant twice. Room service is available 24/7 and included in the cost of your cruise, so you can even enjoy a romantic dinner without leaving your suite.

Entertainment and Activities

The activities onboard the Scenic Eclipse II combine the best of luxury cruising with the best of expedition cruising. Dive deeply into each destination as you explore by land, by air, and by sea. With the ship’s fleet of kayaks and Zodiacs, snowshoes and e-bikes, two helicopters, and a submarine, there are no limits as to where you can go. A team of expert Discovery Leaders will guide you as you explore the remote Arctic landscapes. These highly-trained guides are experts in their field, preparing passengers for upcoming destinations with regular lectures in the ship’s theater, and watching out for passengers’ safety during every part of the tour. These unique shore experiences are included in your cruise fare, so there’s nothing holding you back from immersing yourself in some of the Earth’s most incredible nature.

After a long day navigating snowbanks and ice floes, there’s no better way to warm up than in one of the saunas or steam rooms of the ship’s spa. Or perhaps a relaxing massage is just the thing for your sore muscles? Guests in Spa Suites can enjoy a soak in their private Jacuzzi or warm up in a private steam bath. For a true Nordic spa experience, dive into one of the icy plunge pools after your sauna visit for a refreshing shock, thought to improve circulation. Your personal butler will also be happy to cater to your every wish, whether it’s drawing you a bath just in time for you to return from your latest shore excursion, switching out the pillows to ones that are more to your liking, or bringing you a glass of champagne or a cup of hot cocoa at any time of the day.

Dress Code

Casual clothing is recommended for daytime wear on the Scenic Eclipse II, and guests should pack for the climate at the destination they’ll be visiting. This may include comfortable walking shoes, waterproof boots, or warm winter coats, depending on the itinerary. For evening dining, guests are asked to dress semi-formal or business casual, and formal wear, including a jacket and tie for gentlemen and a dress or smart separates for ladies, are required at the Captain’s Dinner.
