River Royale 2018/2019 Cruises

Experience the flavors of southern France on a Bordeaux river cruise with the River Royale

Cruises on board the River Royale

Sailing through the Bordeaux region of southwestern France, the River Royale is a wine-lover's dream. Enjoy winery tours and excursions to regional vineyards, allow the onboard sommeliers to guide your food and wine pairings at dinner, and sip your favorite vintage while reclining in a lounge chair on the sun deck as you watch the sun go down. Uniworld's commitment to all-inclusive luxury means that once you've booked your cruise, you won't have to pay for a thing.

But teetotalers need not fear – there's plenty to do on a River Royale cruise for Francophiles and people just looking for a relaxing vacation as well. Take a bicycle tour in Bordeaux, visit the house where Monet lived, or get an exclusive tour of the landmark Palace of Versailles. Or not – with 24-hour room service, opulent décor that's enough to rival any château, and a highly-attentive service staff, you may not even want to leave the ship.

Staterooms

The staterooms on the River Royale are decadently furnished, with lavish bedding, patterned wallpapers and thick curtains decorating the rooms. Select your pillow from a pillow menu, and enjoy the luxury L'Occitane bath products. Double staterooms start at 162 square feet, and a limited number of single staterooms are available as well.

Dining & Gastronomy

The main dining room, Le Bordelais Restaurant, serves decadent French cuisine three meals a day. Enjoy buttery croissants, fresh-brewed coffee and light yogurts and mueslis to fortify you in the morning for the day ahead, and rich foie gras, lobster soup, or meat dishes in heavy sauces at dinner. If you're craving the comforts of home, the Blue Fox Café on the top deck serves up burgers and fries, pizzas, and salads several time per cruise.

Entertainment and Activities

Enjoy a wide variety of hand-picked shore excursions on your Uniworld river cruise. Participate in a wine tasting, tour a castle, or visit the historic sites of Normandy. For the independent adventurer, wander the city center for a self-guided walking tour, or cycle through the countryside on a borrowed bicycle. Between ports, indulge in a Ritual wellness treatment at the salon and spa, or take a free Pilates class at the fitness center.

Dress Code

There is no formal dress code on Uniworld ships, so passengers are advised to dress for the weather of the destination they are visiting, as well as to bring comfortable walking shoes for shore excursions. Shorts are not permitted in the dining room at dinner, and passengers may want to bring semi-formal or formal wear for special events and dinners ashore.
