Queen of the Mississippi - 2018/2019 River Cruises

Enjoy the authentic atmosphere of a true Mississippi river boat on Queen of the Mississippi!

Cruises on board the Queen of the Mississippi

Queen of the Mississippi is a true Mississippi river boat. Built in 2015, she travels all up and down her namesake river, from St. Paul, Minnesota to New Orleans, Louisiana. This classic paddlewheeler provides the best of both worlds, with her traditional décor and stylish staterooms providing an authentic onboard atmosphere, yet with all the comforts of that guests have come to expect from modern river boats. Her friendly, all-American service staff will make you feel welcome the moment you step on board.

The Mississippi River holds a special place in American culture and history. Sail in the wake of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn as you cruise one of America’s most iconic waterways. With itineraries spanning ten different states, you can experience quintessential American culture by getting an inside peek at the Kentucky Derby in Louisville, taking a tour of a historical Louisiana cotton planation, or taking part in the world-famous Mardis Gras celebration in New Orleans. With itineraries that are both educational and entertaining, a cruise with the Queen of the Mississippi will be a trip to remember!

Ship information

Staterooms

The Queen of the Mississippi features eight categories of stateroom furnished in relaxing beige, cream, and blues. Ranging from 200 to 450 square feet, the staterooms on Queen of the Mississippi are exceptionally spacious by cruise standards. Nearly all rooms feature a private balcony, and a selection of single staterooms are available for solo travelers.

Dining & Gastronomy

The Queen’s cuisine is inspired by the regions it visits, so you can expect a mouth-watering mix of Southern, Cajun, and Creole cuisine throughout your cruise. Enjoy cruise classics such as steak and lobster, local specialties such as chicken gumbo and Andouille sausage, and homemade desserts such as bourbon pecan pie. Be sure to try the signature cocktail of the South, the mint julep, at the pre-dinner cocktail hour one night!

Entertainment and Activities

The evening’s entertainment typically involves the musical specialties of the region: whether it’s jazz in New Orleans, bluegrass in Kentucky, or just light piano music throughout the day, the musical entertainment will complete the experience of cruising through the American South. Long calls in port and pre- and post-cruise hotel stays mean you’ll have plenty of time to spend in your favorite destinations, and standard shore excursions are available in many ports at no extra cost. A putting green is also available on the top deck for passenger use.

Dress Code

Resort casual clothing and comfortable walking shoes are recommended on the ship and ashore during the day. For dinner, passengers are encouraged to dress a bit more formally, with slacks, skirts, sweaters, and button shirts all being an appropriate choice.
