Traditional Cruising Across the Deep Seas with Columbus

Cruises on board the Columbus

Purpose-built for deep sea cruising, the Columbus sails to ports of call all over the world. The flagship of Cruise & Maritime Voyages, Columbus docks at ports ranging from Hong Kong to Dubai, as well as in the Baltic Sea, the British Isles, western Europe, and even Australia. During the festive season, the ship's itinerary brings you to magical European Christmas markets. Columbus offers a laid-back, traditional cruising experience. Thanks to expansive public spaces, you can enjoy the sweeping views and make the most of your time outside your stateroom, whether you're on a two-day voyage or one that lasts a grand total of 36 nights.

Columbus was upgraded in 2017 to be upgraded with modern amenities while still retaining its traditional appeal. Enjoy a wide promenade, teak decks, and added entertainment areas. The ship was made over to suit adult vacations, as it is now adults-only except for summer breaks, when multigenerational cruises are offered. For those looking for a peaceful, relaxing experience, Columbus is ideal.

Staterooms

Of the 775 staterooms onboard, 64 are deluxe balcony rooms and junior suites, and 150 are single staterooms specially designed for solo travelers. The smallest single staterooms are still a roomy 146 square feet, while the Junior Balcony Suite with an ocean view comes in at a luxurious 372 sq. ft. All staterooms offer an en-suite bathroom, flat screen TV, hairdryer, and personal safe. Junior suites come equipped with a sofa bed to accommodate additional guests.

Dining & Gastronomy

The main restaurant, the Waterfront, offers a full English breakfast and five-course dinners. For more casual dining, you can enjoy the buffet at the Plantation. In fine weather, dine at the Alfresco Grill. Another thing to look forward to is the onboard Indian restaurant. There are also seven bars and lounges, two of which are deck bars.

Entertainment and Activities

Columbus is made for deep sea cruising, and there are some schedules that demand longer sailing days. As such, the vessel offers an extensive array of onboard entertainment. In the evening, you can choose between the Dome Observatory, nightclub, Palladium Show Lounge, and a glittering ball room. During the day, work up a sweat at the gym, take a walk along the spacious decks, or get a massage at the wellness center. If you'd like to get creative, try your hand at an array of craft-making at the designated Crafter’s Studio.

Dress Code

In a week’s cruise, there will likely be two formal nights, for which men should wear dinner jackets or suits and women can wear evening or cocktail dresses. For informal nights, men can skip ties. On casual evenings, you can choose what you'd like to wear, though shorts and sleeveless are not allowed during evening events.
