Avalon Imagery II 2019 - 2020 Cruises

Take a luxury cruise along the Rhine River with the Avalon Imagery II. Launched in 2016, this ship features a one-of-a-kind stateroom design, healthy options at dinnertime, and free, unlimited WiFi onboard.

Cruises on board the Avalon Imagery II

One of Avalon's newest ships, the Imagery II sails along one of Europe's most historic and beloved rivers: the Rhine. Famous for its ancient castles and regional wine, the Rhine begins in the Swiss Alps, winds through Germany, and past Amsterdam into the North Sea. Experience landmark cities such as Amsterdam, Basel and Cologne, and take in the historic sights as well as the scenic countryside of Germany. A Rhine river cruise is the best way to make the most of your European vacation.

The Imagery II is an innovative new ship reaching new standards of luxury and comfort. With just 128 passengers, she provides an intimate, highly-customizable river cruise experience. Her innovative new Panorama Suites feature floor-to-ceiling windows that can be opened to produce an enormous Open-Air Balcony, and the beds face the windows, so you can lounge in bed as you watch the scenery drift by. With high-end amenities, elegant décor, and a subdued color scheme, the Imagery II exudes an atmosphere of relaxed luxury that is both sophisticated and welcoming. It's understandable if you never want to leave.

Ship information

Staterooms start at 172 square feet and come with two double beds which can be pushed together to form a queen-size bed, comfortable Egyptian linens, your choice of soft or firm pillows, luxury L'Occitane bath products, and a flat-screen TV. The brand-new Panorama Suites additionally have wall-to-wall glass windows, an additional 28 square feet of space, and a unique room configuration in which the bed faces the windows. All passengers can enjoy free bottled water, complimentary WiFi, and ample storage space for their personal belongings.

Dining & Gastronomy

The menus on board are designed by Austrian master chefs Karl and Leo Wrenkh. With a focus on fresh and healthy eating, you won't have to worry about gaining weight on your cruise. Enjoy a gourmet four-course dinner in the dining room, or snack on small plates in the Panorama Bistro. Complimentary coffee, tea, and hot chocolate are available throughout the day. Breakfast comes with sparkling wine and a selection of juices, and regional beer and wine are served with lunch and dinner. Finish off your meal with a tantalizing dessert or bites from a cheese plate.

Entertainment and Activities

With at least one included activity in every port, and a wide variety of for-fee tours and excursions, you'll never be bored on an Avalon river cruise. Rather, passengers tend to find the opposite – itineraries are so packed with sightseeing and touring, there's hardly time to relax! Athletic passengers will appreciate the complimentary use of the ship's bicycles and Nordic walking sticks, whereas passengers preferring a more leisurely pace can go on guided walking tours with headsets to better hear the guide. Onboard activities include Afternoon Tea, demonstrations and entertainment by regional craftsmen, a whirlpool on the Sky Deck, and a small fitness center and hair salon.

Dress Code

The dress code on the Imagery II is casual during the day, smart casual during dinner. Passengers are advised to wear comfortable walking shoes during dinner. The Captain's Welcome and Farewell Dinners are slightly more elegant, but not formal, so there's no need to bring a suit and tie – a collared shirt or a nice blouse with slacks will suffice.
