Astor 2019/2020 Cruises

Enjoy country house style on the ocean waves on a cruise with Astor

Cruises on board the Astor

The elegant atmosphere on Astor, one of the classically styled Cruise & Maritime Voyages ships, feels more like a country house than a cruise ship. The high staff-to-passenger ratio guarantees that you'll be pampered and looked after with the highest standards of customer service. Enjoy a wide selection of fine dining options on board, as well as bars with spectacular sea views for pre or post-dinner drinks.

Astor spends the summer months cruising around the Baltic Sea and Northern Europe. Winters she sails the southern hemisphere in the waters off of Australia. It's one of the few ships which still offers a cruise from Australia to the UK or vice versa – a journey of 43 nights. Style aboard Astor is classic, and although the ship is not adults only, the lack of kids' clubs and other child-centered activities mean it's predominantly a more mature crowd. As Cruise & Maritime Voyages ships are smaller than the liners of other companies, Astor is also very popular with solo travelers.

Ship information

There are fifteen different categories of stateroom on Astor, from four-berth interior rooms measuring an average of 172 square feet, to the huge 635 square feet Astor Suites. All staterooms have an en-suite bathroom, flat screen TV, minibar, and telephone. Steward service is also available to all grades of stateroom.

Dining & Gastronomy

Astor's classic style is also reflected in their dining options, with formal dining available in the Waldorf Restaurant and informal meals served in the Übersee Club Bistro. The ship's premier restaurants are the Admiral's Salon, which serves Asian-inspired cuisine, and the Commodore's Salon, where the menu features classic Mediterranean dishes. There are also several bar options, ranging from the theater-style Astor Lounge to the poolside bar, perfect for cooling off with a cocktail in the midday heat.

Entertainment and Activities

The Astor offers an ever-changing program of activities. A list of what's happening the following day will be delivered to your room in the evening, allowing you to plan the next day's fun. Start the day with yoga on deck, then take in an art class before lunch. In the afternoon, relax by the pool or try out the treatments in the ship's spa. In the evenings, take your place at the main show in the Astor Lounge, or try the lower-key late night cabaret.

Dress Code

Daytime dress on Astor is informal, so relax in beachwear and summer clothing. The dress code for the following evening will be listed on the program delivered to your stateroom. There are typically two formal nights per cruise, where either lounge suits or dinner jackets are appropriate wear for men, and dresses or skirts for women. Informal evenings don't require a tie or a jacket for gentlemen.
