Meander down the Mississippi River and visit the "Old West"!

Cruises on board the America

Launched in 2016, America is a classic Mississippi riverboat. She sails along the Mississippi River, from St. Paul, Minnesota to New Orleans, Louisiana on itineraries ranging from 8 to 22 days. If you’ve always dreamed of traveling the American heartland, if you yearn to sail in the wake of Mark Twain on a classic paddlewheeler, and if you want to experience a multi-city trip without worrying about meals and accommodation, then a cruise with America is perfect for you!

With a passenger capacity of just 185, America offers an intimate, laid-back cruise experience. By the end of your cruise, you’ll be good friends with the guests and crew alike. When you return to ship after an exciting day exploring America’s landmarks and museums, you can get to know your fellow guests over a pre-dinner cocktail, enjoy entertaining onboard lectures and performances in the evening, or simply sit in a rocking chair on the top deck and watch the scenery go by. All-deck elevator access, a very attentive service staff, and spacious staterooms make this ship especially well-suited to more mature passengers.

Ship information

Staterooms

America boasts some of the largest staterooms in the cruise industry. Double rooms start at a spacious 290 square feet, and the classic, comfortable design will make you feel at home. Every stateroom has a river view, and most rooms also feature a private balcony. A TV, a DVD player, and free Wi-Fi in every room will keep you from getting bored, and with a private bathroom, a nightstand, a writing desk, and armchair, you’ll have everything you need. Single staterooms are available for solo passengers, and some rooms can also accommodate wheelchairs.

Dining & Gastronomy

American Cruise Lines showcases the best of American cuisine at every meal, and a cruise with America is no exception. From the fresh breakfast served in your stateroom daily, to the sumptuous dinners in the main dining room, you can expect five-star food made with local ingredients. You’ll encounter regional specialties such as Cajun shrimp and lobster, braised beef short ribs, and Creole bread pudding on your Mississippi river cruise. No dinner is complete without dessert, and snacks such as fresh-baked cookies are available between meals. Unlimited beer, wine, and soft drinks are available at dinner, and guests can also enjoy pre-dinner cocktail hour – all at no extra cost.

Entertainment and Activities

On a U.S. river cruise, the destinations take center stage. American Cruise Lines includes at least one shore excursion per port at no extra cost, so you can make the most of your time in each destination. While on land, you can visit iconic sites such as the childhood home of Mark Twain, Elvis Presley’s mansion in Memphis, Tennessee, and visit a real-life cotton plantation in the South. Back onboard, a series of expert lecturers and entertainers will sing songs and tell tales of the history, culture, and wildlife of the region.

Dress Code

American Cruise Lines recommends casual clothing for daytime wear. Passengers are advised to dress for the weather and wear comfortable, non-slip shoes for walking. Though there is no official evening dress code, most passengers choose to dress formal or semi-formal for dinner. Slacks, a collared shirt or blouse, a skirt and sweater, or dinner jacket combination are all appropriate clothing for dinner.
